ABOUT
Taryn Chong (they/them) is an illustrator in the CA Bay Area (Ohlone land) creating energetic, gritty art using traditional and digital drawing techniques. Their work expresses cynicism inspired by punk flyers, 90's-2000's subcultures/music, and political perspectives as a Gen-Z multiple minority. You can also find them combing through secondhand books, blasting pop-punk and post-hardcore music, or trying to keep up their Japanese.
My art is a practice of self empowerment; I create to explore what is possible when we reject the status quo.
